Kensu Valley of 100 Lakes — Private Jeep Expedition from Almaty

Jeep expedition to Kensu, Kazakhstan's Valley of 100 Lakes. Remote alpine chain of glacial lakes in the Tien Shan. Luxury 4x4, camping, Starlink.

The Kensu Valley is one of Kazakhstan's least-known natural wonders — a high-altitude basin dotted with over a hundred glacial lakes, each at a different elevation, each a different color.

What you'll experience: The valley sits in the Kungey Alatau range at altitudes between 2,500 and 3,500 meters. The lakes vary in size from small tarns to expansive alpine bodies of water, connected by streams and separated by rocky ridges. Mineral content in each lake creates color variations — turquoise, emerald, deep blue, milky white. Few people visit Kensu — there's no infrastructure, no marked trails, no cell service. It's a place for those who want true isolation.

Why Wildtour: Reaching Kensu requires serious off-road capability and expedition logistics. Roads disappear entirely in the upper valley — progress is by terrain reading and GPS. Your luxury 4x4 (Land Cruiser or Land Rover) is built for this environment. Multi-day camping is included, with all gear provided. Meals are prepared over open fire throughout. Starlink provides connectivity in a valley where no one else has signal.
