Burkhan-Bulak Waterfall & Zhasylkol Lake — Dzhungar Alatau Jeep Expedition

This Wildtour route combines two of the Dzhungar Alatau's most dramatic natural sites — a 168-meter waterfall and an alpine lake so green it looks unreal — into one multi-day private expedition through Kazakhstan's least-visited mountain range.

What you'll experience: Burkhan-Bulak waterfall drops 168 meters in cascading stages through a narrow valley surrounded by Tien Shan spruce forest. The sound carries for kilometers. Zhasylkol Lake sits at over 2,800 meters altitude, fed by glacial streams that give the water an intense emerald-green color. The lake is framed by rocky ridges and alpine meadows — no infrastructure, no cell signal, no other visitors. This is true wilderness.

Why Wildtour: The Dzhungar Alatau is remote even by Kazakhstan standards. Roads are unmaintained, navigation is by GPS, and weather can shift in hours. Your luxury 4x4 (Land Cruiser or Land Rover) is equipped for expedition-grade off-roading. Multi-day camping included, with all gear provided. Meals prepared over open fire. Starlink provides connectivity throughout.
